Peter C. Pecor, Executive Director, RochesterWorks Inc., Fiscal Agent for Finger Lakes Wired
Peter C. Pecor is the Executive Director of RochesterWorks, Inc. and is responsible for fiscal and project oversight of Finger Lakes Wired to support regional economic transformation.

Pecor develops, recommends, and implements initiatives and strategies related to all aspects of the Finger Lakes Wired Initiative to support the achievement of performance goals for the project. He also monitors project outcomes and goals, ensures adherence to USDOL policies and procedures, ensures communication among partners in support of regional strategies, and collaborates with partners for the coordination and delivery of services.

Finger Lakes Wired, with RochesterWorks, Inc. as the lead agency, was awarded $15 million over a three year period through the US Department of Labor's Wired Initiative. Finger Lakes Wired is a partnership representing 21 business, higher education, philanthropic, economic and workforce development organizations in the nine county Finger Lakes region dedicated to transforming the regional economy.

Prior to joining RochesterWorks!, Pecor served as the Regional Administrator for the New York State Department of Labor from 2000 to 2008, where he directed labor exchange operations and employment programs for the nine-county Finger Lakes region. He has also served on the Monroe County/Rochester Workforce Investment Board, that has overseen RochesterWorks! since its inception in 2000.

Before serving at the New York State Department of Labor, Pecor held positions in the banking industry in commercial lending and business development.

He has served on boards and committees of numerous regional organizations during his career including Rural Opportunities, Empire Zone, BOCES I, Finger Lakes Wired, Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, International Association of Workforce Professionals, and Rochester General Hospital Foundation. He was a member of the Monroe County Legislature from 1991-2000, an Irondequoit Town Councilman from 1986-1990, and chaired the Irondequoit Planning Board from 1982 -1986. Pecor holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations from LeMoyne College in Syracuse. He is a lifelong resident of Irondequoit.

 

Pat Piles, Project Manager
Pat brings over 25 years of corporate and independent business experience in organization and business development, productivity improvement and marketing, and sales. He brings expertise in the areas of strategic planning, targeted innovation, high-impact team development and in the application of problem solving methodologies.

He has designed and developed materials, delivered multi-module programs for all levels of an organization on subject areas ranging from performance improvement, employee retention, leadership & managerial skills, to career planning and career management.

Pat's consulting experiences include being a staff consultant for an internationally recognized innovation consulting company and operating his own consulting practice, Top Line Performance. Client experiences include having worked with Fortune 100 and 500 companies and a branch of the United States Military; but Pat's focus is on small to medium-sized businesses.

When it comes to the corporate arena, Pat held positions of Vice President and Senior Vice President of Human Resources in two retail department store operations and Director of Organization Development at a third retailer.

His background also includes familiarity with the private business sector having owned and operated a personnel staffing, permanent placement and executive search company for eight years, and as Director of Business Operations for a privately owned software development company.

Pat is married with four children and six grandchildren. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He is also certified in the application of TRIZ, a Russian based complex problem solving methodology.

Laura Seelman, Administrative Assistant
Laura Seelman is an Administrative Assistant for RochesterWorks! and Finger Lakes Wired. She joined RochesterWorks! in early 2007 and is responsible for recording meeting minutes, keeping records, drafting contracts, coordinating special events and various other administrative duties.
 
Laura graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She lives in Greece, New York.
